Blocking Bias: How to Speak Up For Your Health

As mobile clinics, we serve underserved populations and we're often embedded in the community and have gained the trust of our community. As a result, it's our job to advocate for our patients when they face discrimination but also for us to teach them their rights as a patient and how they can advocate for themselves in a healthcare setting. This article gives some examples (which you can implement in your clinic) of how healthcare organizations are addressing equity and bias. It also gives great tips that you can pass on to your patients on how they could react when they feel like they're being dismissed or treated unfairly.
